I am not sure whether they filmed it at Everest. But that is the great mountain itself. They could have filmed the foreground in the states and then gone to Everest just to get the shots of the mountain.

It is long. From when we left the car to when we returned it was over 12 hours. Make sure you study the snow conditions. Bring a rope, harness, and especially a helmet, the rock is very bad.
