  1. Damn; I'd be there but i'll be on a plane on my way to red rocks. Next time!
  2. There is a sign at the South end of the campground indicating some other trail... Follow it (maintained until you get to a high-tension power tower) and just keep to the right at most of the breaks in the trail. Great trail, a bit of elevation gain (like 3600 feet) over 2-3 miles. The continuation of the loop is the Ruckle Creek trail (about 5 miles back down) which you run into in the flats (relative) at the top. After you cross a stream the trail is faint and heads left. It is a lot of fun and you rarely run into others on the Ridge section. Oh yeah -- park at the outer Eagle Creek parking lot (by the fish hatchery).
  3. Another vote for the E side. Lucky Lab is always good -- or how about Produce Row? Also I think I convinced Jennie to come as well and I'm sure she's with the E side vibe. j
  4. the thing i wonder is what if my buddy has a talkabout around his neck and he's buried? even if all the searchers turn off our electronic devices will it effect my ability to find him?
  5. a bunch of blowups of climbing pictures my dad took in the seventies. st. helens before it blew and pics looking up the cascades from n. sister where you can see adams crystal clear in the distance (I think the air was cleaner back then).
  6. mtnrgr -- I've got MSRs with tails... They work great in the NW but I'm afraid they aren't going to be big enough in Utah? Do you have any experience with them? Should I go rent some big Atlas shoes? josh
  7. I'm staying with my sister's boyfriend in SLC. I'm willing to go all over the place though. I've never been out there and just want to get around. Worst case I'm just going to do a lot of snowshoeing (there are worse things) and hopefully not get rained on like I would here in Portland.
  8. I'm headed to Utah on saturday for 9 days or so to just hang out in the snow. Does anyone know of a board like this for Utah climbers where I could find a partner or two for a couple climbs while I'm there to break up the snowshoeing and skiing? thanks.
