quote: i would like to say that it takes all kinds. so why dont you find someone else to take you....hopefully not a drug addled adollescent with a death wish...Precisely what I'm doing and the reason for my post. Thanks for noticing. quote: instead of attempting to find only the negatives in everything, you should search out the postives.Huh? I'm looking for the positives, which is the reason for my post. Thanks again for noticing. quote: people with condoning attitudes to do not get fat outside of normal society. Not sure what you're even talking about here. I can't make any sense out of it. What does condoning and getting fat have to do with anything? And what's your definition of a "normal society"? And as far as "condoning" the way you climb - you can climb however you want, I just want safe and clear minds with ME. I like to climb and therefore want to live to climb another day. Climbing in itself is an escape. No point in escaping from climbing with mind-altering drugs. quote: that i because not one person is the same as the next.Really?! Whew! That's a relief! quote: there are certainly like minded individuals that i am sure you can find if you search.Yep, that's why I was asking in my original post. Thanks again for noticing. quote: but not seeing them here does not justify you traching what you don't like.I can't find what "traching" means anywhere. So no clue what you're trying to say. Interesting that you're so offended by my looking for mature (and not necessarily an age thing) climbers, though. Why is it that YOU don't approve of others who want to climb safely and climb in the presence of others who want to climb safely? An amusing post, eric. That's what I was afraid of. I've been forewarned about the folks here (though the forewarning isn't necessary if one reads a few posts), which is why I asked. That's too bad. Oh well. Oh, and for your information Roger, while there may be the occasional climber on nwhikers.net, it's a HIKING site, not a rock climbing site.

Hmmm... Sound's great! I could often use another partner myself. But am I at the wrong web site if I ask if you climb sober and have outgrown the use of mind altering drugs -- not to mention climb safely? [ 08-10-2002, 09:59 PM: Message edited by: moonchild ]

Yikes! I agree that the snowmobiles ruin the experience of the wilderness and think that's sad that they were on St. Helens like that. (If you have a zoom lens maybe you can inconspicuously zoom in on the ID sticker somewhat.) But the person with the gun and thinking shooting/killing is their answer to everything scares the hell out of me! Crack addict: Can you please let us know where you're going so I know where to avoid?

Another thing..... I don't know if all routes are bolted, but those that I was aware of were.

I went there a couple times about 5 years ago but I'm sorry to say I don't remember a lot about it. I do remember a 5.7 route and a 5.9 route to the right of it that starts out with an overhang - at least that's what I was told were the ratings. I know there were more than that, but we pretty much focused on the 5.7 route for lil ol' me. I also remember you can climb up the back side with the help of a cable for a hand line and rappel down two pitches to the base. And I think most of the routes are two pitches. Also, there was nobody else there one time and only two other people the other time. (Can't remember, but it could have been midweek.) Sorry I'm not much help but I have been there. Impact study shows climbing damages ecosytems
moonchild replied to MtnGoat's topic in Climber's Board
Just stop having KIDS!!!! Less population - less impact! Simple. -
From what I understand, employees aren't paid much more than minimum wage. It's unlikely to have an expert at anything for such low pay. So, I guess my suggestion would be quite simply to pay higher wages so you can have the employees with the skill, knowledge, and experience necessary. And if they don't already have the expertise - train them. And I think they must be a climber if they are to work in the climbing department. It's particularly important where safety often depends on the appropriate gear.

I've recently discovered that you can get Philadelphia Cream Cheese in single serve packets at Costco. Of course, being Costco, you have to get an econo-size bag of them, but they're a great idea for taking with for bagels or making a creamy type sauce for noodles, etc. Lizardbrain - you must be skinnnnnnnnnnnny!

PS. You mean there are actually other climbers down south here!?!?!?
-
Sorry I missed it. Sounds like a blast. If next week is in Tacoma, that'll be right around the corner for me. I'm not familiar with any of you here, as I've hardly visited this site until now, but hopefully I'll get to meet some of you. Always looking for new climbing partners and fun!

Unfortunately I was too late in reading about it. Maybe next time. Where are the pub clubs? Wonder if there are rain checks available for that free taste! By the way, free taste of what?

Your questioning whether or not you had good fortune for falling in love makes me wonder if you're really in love! One who falls in love should feel very fortunate.

"There's a group CG that has 55 spaces m/l" So you're saying, Beck, that you've got almost all of the 55 spaces filled?! "people that are actually contributing something, and select invited guests, gets to stay at the group CG" What's left to contribute?

Are you serious? You're actually having a VIP group? Maybe this isn't quite my style.
