Cheers to the admin and mods .... nicely done.
Does this mean the end to the jumping, turgid sausage?

Congrats ... nicely done.

Sobo & Larry .. thanks for the photo .. that would be one hell of a stem, I'm assuming even more of a stem than the upper portion of Wildcat Crack

Plenty of other places to climb in the NF Tieton River canyon ...
I smell a Dirty Sanchez

Sobo & G2G .. thanks for the update, exactly the sort of feedback I was hoping for.
I always chuckled at the name for PoC .. my recollection is a little friendly rivalry between Kerns and Fritz to see who got it first. I guess if something had to go, at least it was a couple of the shorter bolted routes. I'm wondering if it was the entire column or only the portion above the small roof on SM?
Obviously this will turn Couch Potato and Entrance Exam into entirely different routes, and I imagine over time will most likely lead to a couple new ones.
On a sad note ... fellow Yakimaniac Sam Alder pasted away last week. Sam and I spent hundreds of hours at the Columns back in the early 80's before moving on to bigger and better things in the Alpine. Cragg should remember him.

Misty Mountain Threadworks 5 steps, excellent shape. These were my backups, little use, they are in excellent condition!
They've been in cool, dry storage for the last +10 years and need a good home that will use them.
All steps are reinforced with a second layer of flat webbing. Anchor point is is reinforced with a sleeve of tubular.
Comfortable spacing, not very heavy ... $50 shipped

Black Diamond XL Huey Duffel bag, 150 L - $100
Made of same vinyl-laminated nylon material used for their haul bags material, this duffel has been stored in a closet stuffed full of gear for the last 10 years ... It is in excellent condition!
It has sadly has never seen a single road trip and needs a good home that will use it.
Single owner, includes shoulder straps.
If interested in purchasing, I'd prefer to do a PDX local pick-up on this. I really don't want to deal with shipping and I'm guessing you wouldn't want to pay for it.

One of the things I really like about the Grivel is it has an extendable hook for hooking nuts, but could conceivably be used as a v-threader.
sounds like an old style "Thor" ...

Awesome !!! ... Congrats and thanks for sharing

years ago I bought a pair or AFS 101's .... for "plastics", turned out to be the biggest pieces of shit I'd ever owned.
Took'em back to REI and picked up some Koflach Arctis Extreme's .. best pair of plastics I have ever owned

Additional, why wasn't there a Ranger up there to enforcing camping regulations. If you're going to have Rangers they should be out in the field helping create a better environment for everyone.
Be careful what you wish for ... you might just get it .... along with Larry the Tool knocking on your tent door.

Excellent .... nice work!

I think if one wants to make their mark on Rainier, the place to start would be a second ascent of the West ridge of Little Tahoma.
I'll 2nd that motion

Assuming your in Bend ... bust up 97 north to L-worth.
March in the Tieton .. you're more than likely facing nesting closures.

We are all very fit and have multiple multi day trips throughout Grand Canyon. 1 of my friends is a professional guide there as well. John and Joe have successfully climbed Grand Teton last summer. Joe and I successfully climbed Mt. Shasta 4 summers ago via the Avalanche Gulch to Lake Helens route. Joe also stood atop Kilimanjaro about 5 years ago.
so why bother with the cat in the first place?
As mentioned above ... come with a back-up plan and the intent to use it if needed.

well done !!! ... nice push, way to keep it moving forward. I could imagine a lot of people bailing in those conditions.

Well Done gents .. congrats to the Conquistadors!

Mt Adams for first AT trip
in Newbies

As JasonG mentions above ... July is typically too late for descent skiing on Adams ... go early in the season ... watch for road reports on NF-500 and how close you can get to Cold Springs Campground, consider skiing the last mile or two of the road.
