The Playstation Vita will not be in the online casino
Playstation's portable console was meant to be an ambivalent object between a game console and a connected leisure center. A device that allows you to play high quality video games, but also to watch your series on the latest online platforms. With millions of sales worldwide, it is a medium that could seem ideal for online casino players... However, despite the soft eyes on both sides, there has never been a romance. Here is why.
The Vita, simply not suitable
The first reason is simply technical. Online casinos have often used Adobe flash and this technology is not supported by the PS Vita. You will tell me that since 2011, its release date, developers could have found a solution. The market seems huge enough to make this kind of expense a real investment. Yet neither player has crossed the Rubicon. The gambling world had its eyes on a new object that would transform the way online games were viewed. Flash technology would even become obsolete.
The Playstation Vita bows to the smartphone wave
Very quickly, the online casino world grasped the importance of smartphones. The first to realize this were the Italian gambling clubs, which local players call casino non AAMS Skrill. It's easy to say nowadays, but few sectors have thrown themselves wholeheartedly into adapting their services as soon as the first smartphone was released. The smartphone was going to be the tool of the poker surge on the world.
Online casinos had to quickly adapt by offering online gambling rooms compatible with Apple Ios and Android phones. In a few months, games such as baccarat, roulette, slots, blackjack were quickly adapted to smartphones that also supported flash technology. Sony may have regrets with a market of online gambling, that is, casinos, poker, but also sports betting that represents several billion in sales per year.
The Vita casino: a shot in the arm
Sony tried to react and especially to take a share of the market by offering casino games, but the idea quickly fell by the wayside. You can find roulette, craps, blackjack, poker, hi-lo and even a slot machine. The fact that not all of these games are real money games shows more than anything else that they were not successful. We can scoff at Sony's cold feet, but we shouldn't forget that some of the Vita's customer base is underage. Sony couldn't take the risk of letting teenagers play at the casino, either, or risk having its image tarnished and perhaps even end up in court.
The PS Vita console is therefore not compatible with online casinos, but also poker and online sports betting. Don't look for a casino that accepts your Vita, it doesn't exist and without getting too wet, we can say that it will never exist and that it's not a big loss...
