How to ensure the full insulation of the loggia

A spacious loggia is a useful area of the apartment, which can be decorated in different ways. Some owners prefer to carry out full-fledged thermal insulation so that a comfortable temperature is maintained here in winter. This is not the only procedure, but a whole complex of them. What the insulation consists of is described below.

1. Thermal insulation of the loggia floor

Many owners disdain this procedure, because they believe that the heat does not come out through the floor. This is a serious misconception. Ideally, it is better to put a layer of heat insulator on the floor first. For example, expanded clay is suitable. It does a good job of retaining heat, but it weighs a little. Then a warm electric floor is laid on a layer of expanded clay, and only a floor covering is placed on top.

2. Thermal insulation of walls and ceiling

This component is even more important than the previous one, since it is through the walls and ceiling that the bulk of the heat goes. Mineral wool and extruded polystyrene foam are suitable as insulation in this case.

The principles of wall and floor mounting are the same. A frame structure assembled from wooden bars acts as the basis for the thermal insulation material. They are first used to make a binding around the perimeter of the window block. Then they are placed vertically on the walls and across the ceiling. The step of the location of the bars is approximately 50 cm.

The place that remains between the slats is used for laying a heat insulator. It must be laid so that even minimal cracks do not remain. The total thickness of the thermal insulation layer should be 5-10 cm. Accordingly, the bars to create the frame should be of a similar thickness.

If the cracks still remain, you do not need to fill them with mounting foam, because it is useless. It is better to lay pieces of the same insulation. Then, facing panels or drywall are installed on top of the frame, which is then additionally covered with finishing material.

3. Additional insulation on the loggia

To get a warmer loggia, you can use suitable cladding materials. It is better to put laminate or parquet board on the floor. Walls and ceiling, in addition to ordinary facing panels, can also be sheathed with cork. But ordinary wood will do. For example, it can be clapboard or wooden panels. Only they will have to be taken care of very carefully.

The described procedures are a guarantee that the loggia will become truly comfortable. Now, even in the most severe frosts, you can stay on it without problems. skylines.ru
