I have plenty of backpacking experience and have been learning and practicing the skills necessary to climb rock, snow, and ice. I completed Alpinism 1 through AAI up in Bellingham and learned how to travel on snow/glaciers as well as some crevasse rescue techniques. I've climbed on Baker, Adams, and Shasta so far and I'm looking to get out more this summer. I'm 27 years old physically fit, have all my own gear, and I'm ready to learn more. I'm a member at Edgeworks climbing gym in Tacoma where I'm working on my rock climbing as well. It would be awesome to find a partner or partners with some experience to go out with and do some climbing. I work during the week but have weekends off. Dean De B. Posted July 21, 2016 Share Posted July 21, 2016 Hello Bucky. I'm looking to summit Rainier by way of Disappointment Cleaver in early August. It's a climbing project I'm doing. In need of just about any parters that are even semi experienced. Basing my Summer on it. Let me know if that sounds at all interesting. Will have my own climbing and personal gear. I may have barely a little more experience than you, but with more need of brief memory refreshing. Seeking additional partners as well. I'm also trying to summit Hood before Rainier, but it's not quite as important so willing to skip it if I can't find anyone. Let me know what you think. I've been rock climbing both in the gym and outdoors, and I have summited many nontechnical mountains (Adams, Baring, Del Campo, etc). I also just took a crevasse rescue / glacier travel class with Mountain Madness on Mt Rainier, so I want to attempt a few glacier climbs by the end of the season. I am a fit 20 year old with all of my own gear and most weekends off. Let me know if you're interested in setting anything up.
