We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Honeymoon Mine near Mt. Index

Recommended Posts

There used to be a old mine near the start of the trailhead to Lake Serene at the base of Index. It was so interesting. It had long passageways, vertical and horizontal shafts, angling shafts, multi level cave-ins, wood walk ways over deep pits, and an amazing room with a log with a rope hung from it on the ceiling that continued up what looks like a vent shaft, scary. Last time I was up there I tried to find it, but they have rerouted the whole parking area, and where I think the entrance used to be hidden, it is gone. Does anyone know, did they seal it up? It was a cool place to explore.
