Steven Jacoby Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 (edited) I thought it be cool to put together a crew of 6-8 people (roughly two rope teams) to practice mountaineering skills and plan out trips for this upcoming summer. I'd like to do some crevasse rescue practice trips (either on Baker or Rainer.) Then start off with some easier mountains in may (Hood and Adams) building up to more technical in the North Cascades (Shuksan is high on my list) in June and ending with Mt. Rainer in July. I want to have a steady progression so everyone in the crew can trust/ get to know each other. Also have a good understanding with skills. Each person must have all personal gear, we can compile and figure out group gear after the teams has been established. Building safety and leadership building skills are key expectations for this group. Must be also be in Seattle area. Steven Jacoby Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 Hey I have successfully formed a group of about 6 people total, but still have room for more. We are starting meetups this Sunday with a hike and are planning to meetup once or twice a week to train and practice skills. If you are interested please shoot me an e-mail. Planning to attempt Hood,Rainer, Shuksan, Olympus, Bachelor, Adams, and/ or various peaks in the North Cascades. Hopeful will try for 3-4 day summit attempts every 2-3 weeks starting in early may. Hope to hear from you. Cheers, Steven Quote
