Skisports Posted February 3, 2002 Posted February 3, 2002 I have heard some rummors but I am not sure that there is ice climbing right out of bounds by northback I hear it is like a 25-30m but have gone had time go back there and check it dose anyone know about it Quote
Jason_Martin Posted February 5, 2002 Posted February 5, 2002 Skisports, I assume you are talking about Crystal Mountain Ski area near Mt. Rainier. Yes, there is an ice climb out of bounds in the Crystal Resort Area. One may be able to see it approximately 3.1 miles up the Crystal Mountain access road. There is a "35 MPH" sign here. Look up the mountainside on the right side of the road and you will be able to see the falls. The best access would probably be via backcountry skiing after taking a lift. I don't have any information pertaining to ascents of this route. However, it is unlikley that it has not been climbed. Jason Quote
