christophbenells Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 ive got three days to go ski mountaineering in the north cascades. where should i go? i will be solo and have minimal glacier experience. was thinking shuksan since i will already be up there for ski to sea but please give me some suggestions! never been up that way before... also looking for partners if anyone is interested Quote
ClimbAndSki Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Black Peak, hidden lakes peak, and Silver Star are some good peaks that have no (or minimal in the case of silver star) glaciers. Or cascade pass and up the Sahale Arm. Off the Mt Baker road, Ruth mountain is a popular ski, but It is a glacier so be careful(Probably an easier glacier then shuksan). I'm not sure which roads are fully open yet (I know the north cascades highway is open) Quote
