spike1970 Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 And credit to all the Navy guys but especially Brent McIntyre for swinging by and picking me up. Saturday afternoon was cutting in to beer time for everyone, very rude of me. Quote
THE PJ Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 I was climbing the E buttress of South Early Winter Spire and was wondering what that Helo was doing. It seemed to be hanging around way too long to be doing a rescue, but I guess I was wrong. Quote
brentmcintyre Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Hi, I'm Brent, the Corpsman that rappelled down to pick up Jason. I just wanted to post really quickly to say that Jason has become a hero of ours after sustaining that level of injury, resetting it hiself, and smiling the whole time. He's was a great patiet the whole time, I wish all of them were like that! Also, a lot of the credit is place on the person going down the line, but the whole crew worked their butts off on this one because of the altitue and the terrain, and that's including the groud rescue team who did an extremly good job of patient assesment and splinting his leg before I even got there. Cudos to everyone involved. On a side note; Jason, I got all the pictures you sent, but I lost your email in the process so I didn't get to say a proper thank you. We're looking at making at least one of them poster sized for our briefing room. Quote
Dave A. Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Brent, welcome to the site. I would like to thank you and your fellow rescuers for the work you do. I was involved in the incident on Aasgard Pass last month. The corpsman who went under the snow to retrieve the victim, risking hypothermia in the cold and wet conditions, is a hero in my opinion. Definitely above and beyond the call of duty, and deserving of some sort of commendation. Â Quote
stevetimetravlr Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Thank you Brent for your services, and to your fellow corpsmen! You guys rock. Salute!!! Quote
