DIY conversion for the BD Cyborgs Clip to Pro

This worked for me to get a strap version of these crampons to fit my Mammut boots (Mamook Thermos) and I couldn't find any similar info previously.

Two toe-bail wires are cheaper than a new pair of 'pons:

 

Remove these with the saw of your choice (no griding)

 

After conversion.

 

Best that I can tell, the only differences between the strap and wire versions are the vertical tabs, the three holes seem common to both versions going back several year models.

 

A vice helps hold it in place while cutting and adding the wire.

 

I'm sure BD doesn't recommend something like this, and this also isn't likely covered by their warranty.
