Lucky Larry Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 (edited) Have you ever spent hours doing something you thought was a good job? Well, I hope this saves someone some time. I Silnet'ed the seams on my tent with painstaking attention to detail a couple years ago; the tent comes w/out the seams sealed or taped. Now the clinker: I did not have the tent set up/seams tensioned when I sealed it. So today I went outside to do something productive today(ya,sure) and pulled the tent fabric tight, not like a gorilla, but like firm at the seams. Yep, the goop pulled apart and behold, no goo on the stitching-hadn't even touched it. Recommendation: set up tent a few times, stress tent fabric several times. Then try to tension the stitching a little at the seam while your applying the goo to the stitching. And it actually takes very, very little goo in the right spot to do the job-as you all already know; 'cept me. If this is BS let me know. Edited September 14, 2010 by oldlarry Quote
