beta on Goat Rocks area

Anyone been to the Goat Rocks area in the last few days? How much snow is there? We're planning on going up to try Gilbert Peak next weekend from Cispus Basin and I'm wondering about ice ax, crampons, rope and pickets. Or will it be the usual annoying loose rubble?

I haven't been in there so this all just a guess, but I bet it will be full on snow conditions. The road to Chambers lake(Snowgrass flats TH) was still snowed in last weekend. I've also been running into more than expected snow everywhere else.

As of the long weekend, trail was snow free until Surprise lake. Past the lake towards Gilbert Peak TH it turned to snow pretty quick.
