I'm interested in the WT belay parka and am wondering about the fit. For most things I wear a size L, would an XL work well if I am planning to wear it over say, two base layers and softshell jacket, or do you think it would be too loose and baggy?

Hiya Julian. I'm 6' 6" amd not very thick in the chest. I tried it on with a base layer and a mammut lazer jacket under it. No extra space for me with a softshell on. If you are thicker in the chest then you would probably be fine. Compared to most XLs it is pretty generous. For instance, it has a tad more room than my Mammut Stratus XXL. However I find nearly everything mammut to run a size small.

 

Same thing goes for the Montane shell I am selling, they call it an XL but it fits more like a large, I liked the snug fit for cycling.
