Whitman College EntrePrise climbing wall nonsense

Whitman College has recently (within the last year) built a brand new EntrePrise climbing wall on their campus in Walla Walla. Naturally I was very excited about this as I live and go to school at the nearby Walla Walla University. However, upon inquiry I found that the wall is strictly closed to non-students for the first year because of insurance reasons. VERY disappointing! Has anyone else heard anything about this?
