wendell Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 On Monday Sept. 7th when my partner and I were dividing up our gear after a weekend of pleasant climbing at Smith Rock (5th-7th), we found we had a pile of extra gear mixed in with our gear that neither of us owned! We don't remember finding the gear on the route or on the ground; we have no clue how we obtained it. One over-the-edge guess is that maybe it accidentally got stuffed in our packs when we weren't looking? But there was no note about it being a gift! We only climbed two trad routes during our stay, Spiderman and Superslab. Maybe there was a mixup at the base of those routes? I guess the famed Smith Monkey could have mixed it in with our gear while we were sleeping... If you lost some cams, biners, and alpine single runners at Smith last weekend and can tell me what the loot contains and how it is marked, I'd be happy to foil the Smith Monkey's plans and get the goods back to you. It would be also nice to solve the mystery. -Wendell (in North Seattle) Quote
