marc_leclerc Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Does anybody know if anything is forming up around Lillooet or Marble Canyon yet? Or is it still too warm? Man its been a warm start to the year... Quote
marc_leclerc Posted December 6, 2008 Author Posted December 6, 2008 We climbed that route at Sumallo almost exactly this weekend last year! Quote
MikeW Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Pretty impressive today there young Marc!! Nice work! All were impressed! Quote
marc_leclerc Posted December 19, 2008 Author Posted December 19, 2008 Thanks bud.... hope to get out tomorrow... this could be a total FA binge! BTW... there is a fair bit of ice shaping up out here in the valley.... some of the high volume falls arent yet in but they will be soon! Quote
spike1970 Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Got out all day yesterday trying to work some ice and mixed lines on the East side of Mt Seymour. The ice had no adhesion to the rock and made the climbing very difficult at best. Temperature up there was -17C during the day and there are lots of climbs forming. Quote
MikeW Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Yeah we're finding some of the ice out here is not adhered to the rock very well either. I wonder if that's from being flash frozen or what factors lead to that?? Dirt, minerals, etc.. Can anyone suggest a good beginner area, I'm taking out several groups in the next week. Mouse trap would've been perfect however.... Quote

All this snow may make the 'beginner' climbs super shitty as its setled on pretty much anything low angled (grade 3 and easier) in the valley and near Vancouver. Lillooet was pretty dry though and the Rambles may be a good option. Quote
