Wopper
The wife and I are going down to do the South Spur on Adams. I know it is a long slog, no ropes or harnesses etc. But has anybody been up lately? If so how, are the snow conditions? Thanks for any info. dpdean
Did it July 5-6. Piece of cake, totally non-technical. Some steepness from 10,500 to 11,500. The Lunch Counter at 9500 has plenty of camping spots. Summit day started at 4am and we were back to camp by Noon for lunch. If you prefer something slightly more technical try the Mazama Glacier route to Sunrise Camp. It's similar to Emmons, meets up with the standard South Route at about 11,000, but requires a rope.
