v lopez Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Howdy all. I am looking to get in contact with anyone who has the time and desire to climb a wall in Yosemite next week. The dates I have free are from about 3/24 - 3/30. I have done two other grade V walls in the valley so I have some experiance with aid climbing. I was thinking of doing either the south face on the column, the prow, or southern man. From speaking with others, these routes go clean and are straightforward at C1/C2. I was planning on spending only one night on the wall at dinner ledge and then heading for the top. I am very familiar with the North Dome gully descent, or the route could be rapped. What do you think? I am 27, a grad student, I have about seven years of climbing experiance and I am safe and reliable. Please sent me a message and we can start talking. Let's send like UPS. Quote
summerprophet Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 (edited) Can't help you for a partner, but I can give you some advice for the valley. First, Supertopo.com is far more Valleycentric, and you will have better luck there. I can ask some of my wall buddies in the bay area, if they can get the time off work, I am climbing the Nose witht them in May, so they may want a warm up. Lastly, the best route of the three you chose was the Prow. It is the cleanest line, but significantly harder than the South face. When I was up there 6 years ago, Southern Man still required pins. Also, if you want something Harder, Ten years After was all fixed last year. Given the unstable weather right now, I would do the prow or West face of Leaning tower. Toss me a line if I can answer any questions for you, or if you want me to give my buddies a shout. Justin Edited March 24, 2008 by summerprophet Quote
