I'm considering hitting Cruiser, then (time-permitting) climbing The Needle. I was wondering if anyone can give me info. about climbing The Needle. The guidebook has a very brief description that notes a single 130-foot lead. It grades it: 1, fourth-class. Any additional info. would be useful. Thanks! suge Posted July 11, 2007 Share Posted July 11, 2007 Well, I would definitely not call it 4th class or grade 1. Maybe there is a route somewhere else that I didn't see, but from my vantage point it looks low-mid 5th. There is an awesome, slightly overhanging arete that looks pretty tough.
