Milind Bhide has been in love with the Himalayas for the last 25 years, ever since his first visit as a teenager. A resident of Mumbai, India, Bhide has returned to the region year after year to satisfy his fascination with the stunning beauty of the range. An experienced mountaineer, Bhide has participated in various treks and expeditions, including Mt. Friendship (17,533 ft.), Mt. Phabrang (20,230 ft.), and Mt. Kanchenjunga (28,169 ft. and the third highest mountain in the world). He has also been to EVerest Base Camp in Nepal, Kailish Manasarovar in Tibet, the Markha Valley in Ladakh, Kuari Pass and more, practically covering the length and breadth of the Himalayas. On Thursday, June 28, at 7 p.m. Milind Bhide will give a slideshow and talk about the Himlayas as he has discovered them. In addition to a general overview of the Himalayas, he will discuss the various regions of the range, the seasons and weather, precautions for travellers, and look at the many recreational opportunities to be found Join us for this informative and entertaining look at the Himalayas.
