waffles Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 I have been reading this forum for a while now, and finally have a reason to post. I am planning on hiking up from climbers bivouac this weekend. Has anyone been up there recently? Any advice for the hike? - Jamison Quote
shortstow Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Pretty sure the road is still closed to the Bivouac, you might want to check on their website ahead of time. From the St. Helens current conditions report: "05/10/2007: Snow closed. There is 5 feet of snow in the parking lot of the Climber's Bivouac. Climber's are still using the winter route from the Marble Mountain Sno-Park This road is expected to open sometime in mid to late June." The trail conditions said 5' of snow at the biv. Quote
godskid5 Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 we were up there may 21st. and when we picked up our permits at jacks, they said the road was scheduled to open the following friday, may 25. Quote
waffles Posted June 5, 2007 Author Posted June 5, 2007 Thanks for the info, I may go for it in a few weeks, to let a little more of the snow melt out. Quote
