plark42 Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Hello CC'ers- I was wondering what the route up mt. Adam's mazama glacier was like right now... I have heard that this route is a good first "real" glacier climb- any thoughts? Would it be wise to do it with only a second? I have some glacier travel experience but my second does not (and I will teach and practice glacier travel stuff with her before we go of course). I just wanted to know if this route would be a good first glacier for her to climb on. Thanks for the info- Quote
Chriznitch Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 a pretty gentle route for such a big mountain...you'll love it! Here's a couple pics circa July 2003: view from high camp crevasse descent down route Quote
mattyg Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 Yeah, it's a nice route. Definitely better than the south ridge slog. Here's my TR from last year: http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/threadz/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB5&Number=374192 Quote
