Shurman Rock Needs Help!

remember clarke shurman? who hasn't done some climbing on his rock? you know, north america's first man-made climbing rock... shurman rock, first named monitor rock by clarke when he built it back in the 30's out at camp long in west seattle. well no one's been climbing on it for over a year because its been closed due to a potentially dangerous structural crack. there is a meeting on the future of Shurman rock on TUESDAY, MAY 15th, 7pm at Camp Long Nature Center. will it be torn down? repaired? expanded? a new rock constructed? if we don't want it torn down where will the money come from?

Did anyone attend this meeting or know what the fate of good old Sherman Rock is? The historian in me hopes they will restore it but the climber in me hopes they will build something with better bouldering (ala the UW rock). The pessimist in me assumes they'll tear it down and not replace it, or replace it with something mediocre.
