Mountain Soles is proud to announce that, this Saturday, May 21st from 10am to 4pm we will be partnering with Oregon Mountain Community to host our 3rd Annual Used Gear Swap. This year, the swap will be at the Oregon Mountain Community parking lot (east of the OMC building at 2975 NE Sandy Blvd.), and will be held Rain or Shine. How the swap works: Come to buy used gear, or sell off some of your un-needed gear. If you have used outdoor gear that you would like to sell, show up around 10:00am to get a space in the parking lot to display your items. There is no cost to sell, but you are responsible for the sale of your items. The type of gear that we usually see at the swap includes: kayaking, climbing, backpacking, camping, and Nordic & telemark skiing equipment. If you need tables and chairs, you’ll need to bring them, as they will not be provided. If you have a pop-up style canopy (like an E-Z up tent) you might consider bringing it in the event of rain. This year we have expanded the event to include an Outdoor Expo, and will have many local outdoor clubs and environmental groups as well as outdoor industry representatives in attendance to discuss their activities and products. There will be many raffle prizes and contests throughout the day, including opportunities to win a Wallowa’s hut trip from Wing Ridge Ski Tours, climbing courses from The Portland Rock Gym, trips from Adventures Without Limits, and gear from companies such as Mountain Hardwear, Marmot, Black Diamond, Solstice, Western Mountaineering, Keen, Arc’teryx, Merrell, La Sportiva, and more. Also, weather permitting, we’ll have a climbing wall and some climbing related contests from 12 to 3pm, and great deals throughout the store all weekend long!
