Jetson Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 (edited) I will be climbing some fairly steep (50-60 degree)snow slopes along with some glacier travel. I bought an 8.5mm rope as recommended by the sales guy at REI. I want to confirm with others if it's okay to use a single half-rope in these situations. catbirdseat Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 How long is it? If it is 38 m then use it single strand. If it is 50 m or longer, double strand it for two climbers. Quote
