Hotlum Bolum road access and conditions

Anyone have any info on road access to the trailhead (Northgate)? Thinking mid-May trip. I assume Shasta's snow load is heavier than what we've had in Oregon and Washington this winter but not sure what's happened down there in March/April. Thanks.
