GrahamR Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 An ice axe was found on Saturday February 26 on snow by the creek flowing out of Williamson lake in the Welch / Foley Peak basin, Cheam Range. It was in a hole in the snow and it looked like someone had maybe punched through the soft snow into the creek bed and possibly lost the axe in the process. It maybe belongs to one of a pair we saw earlier in the day climbing up to the col between Welch and Foley Peaks. To claim it e-mail me at growbotham@intrinsyc.com or call 604 876 9279 with a description of the axe. Quote

GrahamR Posted March 3, 2005 Author Posted March 3, 2005 OK. We wondered who the ranger belonged to. Don, Brad and I had a superb day on the S Ridge of Welch. Highly recommended. Cheers, Graham Quote
