Hey, I'm new to ice climbing and am looking at a pair of these or the 8's for this winter. Found a good deal on them with lots of sizes. Usualy take a 8.5 soloman street shoue. Any ideas on if i should go for them in 8.5 or 9, amd which boot (the Super 8 or 9) to get?

Cheers: Rob

I previously used the Super 9's (blue/orange) for general mountaineering and loved them to death. My replacements were a pair of the insulated (Thinsulate)Super 9's (black/neon yellow). They have been fantastic for ice climbing in SW British Columbia and also in the Rockies, including some -25 Celsius mornings. They are rigid enough to create a nice stable platform. As far as size, you just need to try them on.
