penelope_pitstop Posted October 23, 2003 Share Posted October 23, 2003 this past sat., got to 9700'. started at the lakes, yes, the scramble up to the snow is a little irksome, but didn't take too long. got on the whitewater, headed east. stayed high, to be above crevasses. climbed over two, which "seemed to be" filled in enough. it is a bit like a shooting gallery up there. left camp @ 5 am, turned around @ 10:30, as thought downclimbing steeper slopes might be a problem....snow was getting soft and sniper fire increasing. gorgeous day, should have started earlier. drank tequilla back at the camp anyway.
