nps.gov and all park service web sites

I talked to my buddy that works down in yosemite and he gave me the scoop on this whole fiasco. Turns out the Buerau of Native American Affairs (another agency in the Department of the Interior) was having money mysteriously disappear from their electronic accounting systems, so they went to a judge. The judge then ordered the department of the Interior to hire a hacker to see how secure the Interior systems where kinda like the sweet movie 'sneakers'..

turns out it took homeboy 10 minutes to gain root access to most of the NPS/Interior systems, including NPS.gov, their web/email server. so the judge ordered all interior systems to be unplugged physcially from the net. Thus the web outage. They have begun to move the web content to another server and it should be back up within the month, as for the rest of their systems, they're hoping to be back online fully in March, DOH!
