To whom it may concern:

This letter is to address the Castleton Tower preservation initiative. I am not affiliated with the Utah Open Lands; I am a private-sector donor. The Utah Open Lands trust is trying to raise the final remaining balance of $40,000 required to save Castleton Tower and the surrounding area from development and closure, by their deadline of July 15. I and a few other Front Range climbers have decided to pool some money for the initiative. This donation will be made as a "match".

If you are concerned about the preservation of the land and access to the Castleton Tower area, please consider making a donation to preserve this historical and unique area.

I am offering to MATCH any donation made to the Utah Open Lands trust for the acquisition and preservation of Castleton Tower. You can visit their site for more information at: http://www.utahopenlands.org/index.php or to donate directly go to:

https://secure.singlepoint.net/utahopenlands/donations/index.php

Please put in the comments field "For Acquisition of Castleton Tower" and also "Front Range Climber Match".

If you do this, for every dollar you donate, we will be donating a matching dollar, up to $1500.00. Your donation is fully tax deductible.

You may contact me from this link, or write to Janine Cousins at janine@utahopenlands.org for details or with questions.

There is also a discussion of this fun at http://www.climbingboulder.com/resources/features/activist_issues/castleton_.html
