Hey everyone,
Finally got around to registering on this site and wanted to say hello to Vancouver/Portland peeps.
Also, if you don't know already I'm looking for climbers that would like to be featured in an ongoing photography project called Local Climbers, Local Crags. LC2 is all about the everyman climber who climbs around Portland and Vancouver. Any route within reasonable driving distance for a day out is fair game and if you live around the area and can safely lead any grade then I'd love to collaborate with you.
You can view some images from the project so far over here: Local Climbers Local Crags
The current round of prints is on display at Base Camp Brewing Company and will be refreshed (hopefully with images of your crushing selves) as I have cash free for printing.
I have some people lined up who want to climb for the project but could use more just to increase the odds of matching up schedules. Here are a couple more things I'd love to see to increase diversity in the project:
•Kids or Teens who are leading
•People (especially women) in their 40s or above
•Ice or other interesting conditions that are closeish to town (Even a Hood climb might be nice)
Before you volunteer, it's fair to warn you of the following:
1) This is more of a photoshoot and less of a cragging day. Be prepared to be patient while I fiddle with lights, fix lines etc. Don't plan on knocking down a ton of routes that day.
2) I'm more on the novice side myself and only recently started to lead sport myself, so I may need a little help fixing a line to shoot from if it's on a grade beyond me.
3) I encourage you to be safe. Don't be too vain for your helmet just because I'm taking pictures, save the beers for after the shoot etc. I'm not a safety nazi and i'm ok with you opting out of a helmet but I bring it up just because I've had people assume they shouldn't wear one just because I was shooting.
Hope to hear from some people. Just drop me a PM or hit the contact link on the website I posted above!
