  1. Ello! Clearing some stuff out of the closet. Here it is... everything is free shipping to CONUS. Black Montbell Ex Light down Jacket - Size Medium ($110)- Used. Jacket is "like new". No holes or ruffed up areas, it still has its loft. I've owned it for about a year. It's spent most of its time hanging in my closet. It's surprisingly warm for its weight. I cut the tag off because I hate tags. Asking for $110. Black GoLite Tumalo Pertex 2.5 layer storm pants - Size Medium ($80) - Never used, but the back tags are cut off. Really simple design with a nice drawstring type closer. Asking for $80. Black/Grey CAMP Magic Wind Jacket - Size Medium ($50) - Used, but nothing wrong with it. Asking for $50. DriDucks Micropore Rain Jacket - Size Medium ($15) - Never used. Black Marmot L/S Baselayer - Size Medium ($25) - Used, "like new". Honestly, I have no idea which shirt this is. It's long sleeve, can't tell if it's merino wool because I don't have any merino wool to compare it with. I definitely remember buying it maybe 2 years ago for $50. I think I remember it saying that it used some kind of natural cocoa fiber but I could just be crazy. Either way, I used it for skiing and a few cooler hikes. I loved it until I grew a few more inches, and now it's a little too short (I'm 6'4"). Sorry that I don't have any info on it, all I can say is that I enjoyed it from experience while it fit me. White GoLite Visor - ($10) - Used it just a few times for some trail runs. It's still in good shape. Terra Nova Tarp Shelter - ($50) - Used twice. Got sprinkled on once. Blue Sea to Summit UltraSil Pack Cover - Size Medium ($20). Used a few times, mostly just carried around. I get lucky with weather. Mens North Face Crestone 60 Backpack - Size Large ($90). Used maybe 7 nights. This pack sells anywhere from $180-220 online. Thats it! If anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me, or even better just reach me at mhfleming92@gmail.com. Thanks! Michael
  2. My bad, I meant carrying along a hard shell for if the weather turned bad and the insulated jacket for being lazy. Not wearing it all at once.
  3. Thanks for that! Good info on there. So it's your typical softshell just with a different material that may be better or worse pretty much. So when layering for cooler weather (around 30f), would a light base layer(capilene 2), this jacket, a rain shell, and an insulated jacket for stops suffice? If it was colder, would it make sense to wear a R1 hoody underneath this? I'm not too familiar with how to use a soft shell(never owned one). Is it pretty much just your top layer unless the weather turns ugly? Thanks!
  4. Hey everybody. I'm new to mountaineering and i'm trying to get a nice layering system going. Would the Arc'teryx MX Hoody be a good midlayer? - http://www.arcteryx.com/Product.aspx?EN/Mens/Acto-MX-Hoody# I don't think it's windproof at all, but the breathability seems great. Would it be classified as a softshell? Would a base layer, this, and a wind shell over it all be good? Or would you wear a wind jacket underneath it? Is it redundant to have a wind shell and a rain shell? Thanks!
