  1. I've moved away from the Cascades, but I'm guessing someone out West might like this. I'm selling my Volant Hooded Parka. This box-baffled parka is light (794g), water-resistant, and extremely warm with 11oz of 850+ fill down. This guy is in great condition with no holes or odor. It's never been stored compressed. Waterproof stuff sack included. Shower curtain extra. Full specs: http://featheredfriends.com/volant-down-jacket.html $199 shipped. Email nick [at] synnottmountainguides [dotcom] Thanks! Nick
  2. Hi guys, I've moved from Seattle back to New Hampshire, but I thought someone in the Cascades might be looking for a deal. So shipping is included. For sale is my Mammut Snowpulse Ride 22 Protection airbag ski pack, ready to be filled and used. Included is the (empty) air canister, which normally sells separately for $189, the rearming tools, and 2 recharge kits. Just fill the canister and you're ready to go - nothing else is needed. This pack is in like-new condition. I have used it for 4 short days of skiing and deployed the airbag once, indoors, before a flight home. The ONLY reason I am selling it is that the 22L pack is a little tight to get a full guiding kit in -- if I were using this recreationally, it would be perfect. One internal zipper that separates the airbag from the pack contents is tricky to mesh, but this doesn't affect usability and you will rarely unzip it. It is such a nice pack that I may just deal with it being a little small, if nobody's interested. But hopefully my loss is your gain. Features At a Glance: - Diagonal ski carry - Snowboard carry - Tuck-away helmet carrier - Ice tool compatible - Snow safety pocket - Fleece goggles pocket - Extra-wide zip openings - "Protection" airbag system w/ canister included - Easily remove the airbag and have a perfect, light ski pack. Current cheapest online market value for this pack + canister is $750. So I'm pretty firm at $589, shipped. Email Nick@Synnottmountainguides.com or call/text seven eight one 820/1510 for info/pictures. Thanks! 3. Thanks for the info, Dave. I didn't mean to sound dismissive of the climbing itself in the original post. Could a snow machine legally be used on the approach, at least along the road? Any idea what mile marker the road is closed to, roughly? And have you ever hear of somebody getting it done, or trying? Thanks again.
  4. Hi All, I'm trying to figure out if anyone has ever done the Torment-Forbidden Traverse in winter. Have you ever heard of someone trying? I'm sure some reticent hardman has done it, but I can't find any info. The biggest challenge would appear to be the approach, given winter road closures. Any info would be appreciated! Nick
  5. Still available as of now! Thanks!
