I am a climber and geographer freshly out of college and looking to get more experience under belt, as well as give back to the climbing community here in the NW.
I am looking to VOLUNTEER creating maps and graphics for anyone creating a guidebook, publication, or any other climbing/skiing/outdoor related media- either online or print. When it is too rainy to climb I would love to make you great reference maps, approach maps, area maps, as well as enhance your topos and graphics to better show your data and help users get info more clearly. You would get a free good map or graphics and I would get experience (and maybe a free guidebook?).
I have studied GIS, Cartography, and graphics in school, and done some work at the American Alpine Club on their publications one summer. Here is a (very low resolution) example of a fun map I made, showing (some of) Fred's first ascents
