day hike to camp muir actually sounds like a good idea, as we are planning to climb rainier in july. any idea how long the drive is from hood to rainier?

Hi, my wife and son and I are planning on climbing Mt. Hood this May and hopefully will have some extra time afterwards. Can anyone suggest another mountain we could climb in the vicinity. We are relatively new at this and anything more difficult than the South Side of Mt. Hood would be too difficult. Also did South Spur of Mt. Adams last year. Thanks.
