I'm gearing up for Lake Superior waterfall ice climbing, after summitting Rainier w/ IMG this August (via DC-Emmons, 3-day). I have all the recommended equipment from that climb and know to get the essentials like BD Viper, Ice Screws, etc.; and I'd greatly appreciate advice on what are the waterfall ice climbing essentials so I don't have gaping holes in my setup or needlessly acquire useless equipment. In addition to the Rainier climb, I've read, and re-read, all the ice and mixed climbing sections of Freedom...7th Ed. Thanks so much for any advice that members may offer up.
