  1. Looking to do Ellinor this weekend if the weather permits. Anyone done it in the winter? Any tips on routes and such? Thanks Bakes
  2. "Sledding on Rainier is like bouldering on El Cap" Agreed. Just looking to get the kids out on the mountain as much as possible...I'll ge them to the top in about 5-10 years
  3. No intention of doing it solo. The one day approach works for me because unfortunately I have a job that has lots of single day off but not so many 2 day off weekends.ThanksBakesPS --> Here is what happens when you let the Pine Fuzz run the sledding hill at Paradise. I think they had 4 rangers up there with radios and snowshoes. Maybe if more people stopped paying for permits they would have to cut back a bit. My guess is they would cut the sledding hill rangers before they cut the climbing rangers.Needless to say, my kids had more fun digging holes in the snow than being micromanaged on the sled hill[img:left]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3196/3165712022_87e40a77d6_b.jpg[/img]
  4. Seems like I am always sharpening and straightening out the points on mine
  5. Besides really good cardio...what does it take to do Rainier in a day. It just seems crazy to me that some people make it a 4 day hardest climb of my life experience and others just kinda park at Paradise and run up and back in time for lunch. Anyways, anybody have any info on how they did Rainier in a single day? Specifically, gear, start times, routes, etc.. Thanks Bakes
