  1. My wife will be out of town and my usual climbing partners are all busy this weekend. I would like to do an overnight trip to Mt. Daniel, Mt. Snowking, Mt. Gilbert, or something else of that caliber. I am open to suggestions. I don't have technical rock climbing experience, but am very comfortable on snow and glacier. I focus most of my energy on ski mountaineering and notable trips this year include Eldorado Peak and Mt. Baker. Let me know if you are interested and we can plan something.
  2. Hi, we were the skiers you met on the last pitch. Glad you didn't have any avi trouble. We had some avi trouble below 'hammered ridge' but fortunately no injuries. If you are interested, I posted pictures from our trip in Picasa: http://picasaweb.google.com/erikhenne/EldoradoPeakSkiTour2009?feat=directlink
  3. Thanks for the excellent advice. We are planning on hiking the W in 5 days so that we will have time to go to Fitz Roy as well. I will let you know if I have any other questions.
  4. My wife and I have planned our first trip to Patagonia and I have a few questions I can't seem to find the answers to. Maybe someone here could help. 1) My stove uses campinggaz. Will I have trouble finding these canisters? Specifically in El Calafate or Puerto Natales? 2) Our longest trek will be in the Torres del Paine. Do any of the huts have outlets? It would be great to recharge my camera batteries rather than loading up on $80 proprietary batteries
  5. Going through my back country ski books, I always wished there was a better way to visualize where each tour was located in relation to one another. So I began marking tours in a Google map with the line feature. I had so much fun I plotted all the tours from the books by Burgdorfer, Volken and Blair (are there any other books that I don't know about?) The map can be found at: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=104533212117189621673.00044a0d630607854b54a I hope you enjoy the map as much as I did making it and please share it with your friends.
