  1. Advice taken. Thanks all for the affirmation.
  2. Thanks for the feedback everyone. What about a night ascent with 6 a.m. topout, down-before-noon type of thing. Is that an idea worth considering under these conditions?
  3. My partner and I were considering climbing Rainer this weekend due to good weather window but have since bailed on the idea due to avy conditions. I haven't done it myself, though have 2+ years of alpine experience in the Cascades. Wondering if anyone can lend some wisdom/opinions on the avy danger up there (particularly the DC route), ways to mitigate it (if at all) given the recent new snow, and whether or not this was a "good decision." Good or not, I think we've already made our decision on this one, but it's good to know what others are thinking/planning for future reference. Cheers.
  4. Yea ... can you give me a few specs (year, size, price)?
  5. I'm looking to get some AT boots, size 28 to 29 (for a 10.5 street shoe). Hoping for something on the lighter side - ideally 4 lbs or under - something I can be comfortable in going up big volcanoes. Let me know what you have. I can't spend more than $300. Cameron @ 503.880.8673. The sooner, the better. Cheers.
  6. Hey I'm going to be near the Gorge (Oregon side, though could do either) on the 26th and 27th and wondering if anyone wants to go climb ice. I have tools, rope, and some experience but don't feel ready to lead yet, so I will top-rope with you or belay and follow as much as possible while the sun shines (whatever that means on a NW December day) Please email or call asap so I know what to pack on my trip down from Seattle. calford@gonzaga.edu or 503.880.8673
