VERTICAL WORLD JOB ANNOUCEMENT Weekend/Evening Front Desk & Program Staff- REDMOND VW Responsibilities: • Excellent customer service! • Accurate data entry and filing • Run birthday parties and groups for youth and adults • Communicate with customers in the gym about the various programs, classes and membership options • Completing a daily task list consisting of cleaning, data entry and filing, maintenance of the gym and checking of the equipment • Must be able to work weekends and weekday evenings consistently Desired Qualifications: • Familiarity with rock climbing and top-rope belaying • Outgoing & able to communicate effectively with customers of varying ages & ability levels • Trustworthy & dependable-able to work independently & self-start on projects • Current First Aid/CPR or equivalent Time: • Must be able to commit to 10-20 hours each week on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday • There is often opportunity to take on additional hours doing the following: running additional programs, teaching, etc. If more hours are desired, the more flexible an employee can be, the more they will be able to take on where they are appropriately qualified. • Position can begin ASAP Compensation: • Pay is dependant on experience and whether or not additional responsibilities are taken on within the gym. There is often also opportunity to move into varied roles within the gym. The base range is $8-$11/hr DOE and responsibilities taken on. • Membership to gym and loads of gear and climbing clothing pro-deals are also available. • Health Benefits are available for employees that work a minimum of 30 hours To apply contact: K.J. Head Routesetter Responsibilities: • Manage and train volunteer routesetters • Excellent customer service and communication skills, including conflict management skills, and experience dealing with challenging customer situations. • Take weekly route inventory • Keep detailed account of what needs to be stripped and set and communicate route needs with volunteer setters • Meet weekly with gym manager to discuss route plan • Work with manager to put together a monthly order for holds within a set budget • Quality control-set-up a system of testing routes to ensure accurate rating • Set quality routes in a timely manner • Wall and equipment maintenance • Ensure a safe work and business environment • Know and enforce all Vertical Worlds policies Desired Qualifications: • Experience climbing both indoors and outdoors in varied settings • Experience lead climbing • Preferred-experience setting routes. Ability to lift 50 lbs. • Preferred-experience managing or organizing volunteers • Solid communication and organizational skills • Current CPR and first-aid certification Commitment and Compensation: • Head Routesetter position is 25 hours per week. There is opportunity to take on additional hours doing the following: working the front desk, running programs, & teaching If more hours are desired, the more flexible an employee can be, the more they will be able to take on where they are appropriately qualified. • Pay is dependant on experience.
