I live in Portland and I am looking for someone to help get me started with mountaineering. Since I am a total newb, I can't help ya with learning ice....BUT I would love to learn with you.

I would have no problem driving up to WA as far as seattle for a weekend of climbing. I wish I could find some people in OR to climb with though. You would think having Hood, Sisters, Adams, and St, Helens near by would result in a lot of people around PDX climbing. I dunno.... Where would you take me up in WA?

Nah, OHSU doesn't have a program in Oriental Medicine. They are strictly a western allopathic school. I am attending the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in SE pdx, soon to be relocated downtown. Its nice because my college has a partnership with OHSU that allows me to do clinical rotations in the Health and Healing Center at the Waterfront. So I kind of get the best of both worlds. Wanna climb?

I am just getting into mountaineering and in dire need of someone with some experience to go with that would be willing to teach me. I have done a lot of hiking and camping and now I want to make the transition to mountaineering. I pretty much have the basic gear like clothes, boots, axe, crampons, helmet, tent...etc. If I need anything once I find someone to climb with, then I am sure I can grab it. I really don't wanna have to go and learn solo. Anyone interested?
