  1. Some of you may have seen that the AAC is hosting an event in Bend, OR, March 29-April 2. I want to clarify that the AAC Annual Meeting and Mountain Fest is open and available to ALL climbers. If you're a climber you should be in Bend this weekend. There are plenty of events to attend that are free or a reasonable fee. You do not need to fork over the $200 registration fee to come and have a great time. The registration fee is for those who want to attend the Friday and Saturday night dinners/fundraisers in addition to all other planned events. Free events include the climate change symposium, climbing clinics, gear demos, service projects and of course climbing and skiing. Some events have a nominal entrance charge or a "suggested donation", like the House/Anderson slide show ($10), Ladies Basecamp Breakfast ($20), and Direct Beckey film preview ($10). It doesn't matter if you're a pad person or Himalayan hardman, get on over. We don't care if you crash at a friend's house, lay out shekels for a hotel room, or dance around your own bonfire in Skull Hollow. Just make every effort you can to get to this gathering in the Oregon high desert. You do not need to be a member of the AAC to attend, but you should join and help fight the good fight for all climbers. Go here to join: AAC Website See you in Bend for a pint and a pitch! To view the schedule and get more info on who's coming, who's giving free clinics etc, click here: Schedule Jason AAC Staffer
