Bachelor was the place to be on Sunday for early season hike turns. Saw 2 hitting the cone at dawn. Nice pow. Big warm up coming so would wait for next time now...

There is a brass monument about 5 miles up fom the bottom of the Devil's gulch trail out of Cashmere that during the Washington centenial was marked as "pretty much" the center of the State. You can find it if you where to look and I bet the cords are listed somewhere.

Fatal avalanche at Crystal Mountain

CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN, Wash. -- A skier was killed Saturday afternoon when he was buried in an avalanche in an out-of-bounds area at the Crystal Mountain ski resort.
Ski area spokeswoman Tiana Enger says the avalanche occurred about 3 p.m., when the victim and a male companion were in an area that was roped off and marked as permanently closed to skiing. The area is on the back side of the resort and actually within the boundary of Mount Rainier National Park. The ski area is just east of the park.
Enger says the victim was wearing a transponder, which helped rescuers narrow the search, but he was unconscious and not breathing and could not be revived.
The second skier was not hurt.
Names, ages, hometowns and other details about the two skiers are not immediately available.
Enger says it's not yet known how the avalanche was triggered.

For those of you lucky enough to call Central Oregon home there is a corn alert for the south side of bachelor weds. Corn was had on tues. If you use the lifts stay inbounds.

Timmy, was that you at Mt B on Sunday ?
