Thanks for all the advice. Where would I find out about Ptarmigan traverse? Also, I found one hike over hannegen Pass in WTA but not the same exact one, is there a book, map or site you would reccomend to research this?

Hi all, Was hoping for some help planning a 5 day backpack to the North Cascades. My wife and I live in Boston and love to hike in the White mountains every couple weekends. We are looking to come to Washington for 5 days of backpacking followed by a guided climb of Baker or mountaineering course. Were hoping for 5 days that includes ridges summits, views, lakes etc. A loop would be easiest unless you have hiker shuttles like we do in New Hampshire. While we have winter gear, we'd like this first part of the trek to be relatively danger/crevace free if possible. We are pretty aggressive hikers, will do up to 5000 ft of elevation gain per day, like to hike briskly for 6-8 hours a day (i.e. shriner in RNP is good example of nice morning hike). Ideally we're looking for something similar to the awesome Grand Teton Loop (Jenny lake to Teton village). Thanks for all advice you might have. Blue
