Earlier in the week I returned a pair of BD Compact trekking poles to REI after I snapped one coming down snow. A friend of mine also had problems with BD poles, her's just bent though, didn't break. I was wondering if others have had similar problems, and what poles have worked better...Leki, Komperdell(spelling?), Rei. Before buying some more i wanted to know what's worked best for others. Thanks.

Just checking if anyone has a probe that they wouldn't mind getting rid of, send a pm if you do.

I am a student at UW, have plenty of gear(including my new Alien and TCUs I bought today:)) , have a vehicle, and lack a safe partner. Hoping to tag along with someone that has a fair amount of experience at Leavenworth, Index, or Teiton River Canyon. Used to climb up to .11 on bolts, .9+ on gear. PM me if you are interested...
