Climbed Thomson 2 weeks ago. Katwalk was clear. Ridge Lake was just starting to thaw. Trail from the lake to Bumblebee Pass was easy walking on snow. Hike up notch to Bumblebee Pass was snow-free. Snow on other side of Bumblebee Pass all the way down to talus field on the other side. If you are planning on camping I recommend staying in the basin. Good water, tremendous views, and a shortee hike out.

Anybody have any beta on conditions in the Enchantments? I'd like to make a pre-"permit required" trip up to Prusik Pk. but the calendar is filling up quickly.
-
Don't they lock it in the of-season?

good thing you didn't listen to me ! About an hour after I posted it started to clear. I went out there this evening myself and poked around Shady Hollow area. The rock at Erie seems to dry quickly. That, partially, makes up for all the ticks. --jst

Overcast right now but not raining. Got absolutely soaked yesterday.

I am interested in checking out some of the new climbs on the Black Wall..... easy to mid 5.10...I can lead, or whatever...
Erie is often dry when other parts of the West Slope are drenched, and Sunday looks to be the best weather day.
It's (a lot) on the dampside up here. I'll post again Sunday morning if it might clear up.

Geez - Get a room already
Coopah, we got anything going for Sept or Oct or are you spoiled on CA sunshine, hotties and white granite?

Now there's a peak to climb. Vacation is what I got!
Alrighty then...you bring the dehydrated-refried beans (never knew there was such a thing ) and I'll pack the rope.
Can we do it this year ?

you are right...just this once

Oh yes according to a little bird the Galene Lakes trail is about like the Hanging Lakes trail, ie. returned to the spirits of river and forest.
Yeah, I heard the same thing...just checking out different options. I might make a recon trip this weekend and see just how bad that trail is. Those crazy Canucks lie sometimes just to keep us from snooping around up there. Thanks Dru

Give it up JST.
Not my style...you know that. Moxx is not far away, we could fit it in. How much vacation time you got?
-
you da man...
Did you make it to the Toothpick last time you were wandering around up there?

Anybody have any beta on Devil's Toothpick? Is the Galene Lakes Trail in decent condition or is there a better approach?

Reading Beta is a bit like watching Oprah. You can follow the advice if you like or change the channel and do what YOU want. Either way you don't have to tell your friends.
